Data Governance Analyst | Senior Associate

The Data Governance Analyst will support the Data Governance Manager by executing and monitoring data governance initiatives and ensuring precise data management across the company. This role will involve establishing and reinforcing data governance policies and standards, supporting data quality initiatives, and assisting in risk identification related to data handling and protection.

Whatyou’lldo:

Support the implementation and ongoing operation of the firm’s data governance framework, policies, standards and processes.

Set up andmaintainthe enterprise data catalog, including configuring settings, workflows, roles, and permissions.

Curate data assets in the catalog by adding business terms, definitions, owners, and lineage so people can find and trust the data they need.

Keep catalog content current by reviewing and updating metadata as systems and business needschange.

Work with Data Owners, Data Stewards and business stakeholders to clarify data accountabilities and embed effective governance practices.

Maintain data governance artefacts, including data inventories, ownership records, business definitions,standardsand procedural documentation.

Coordinate governance assessments andmonitorcompliance with data management requirements, escalating issues whereappropriate.

Support the identification, assessment and treatment of data risks,



controlgapsand governance issues.

Assistwith data quality activities by documenting issues, coordinating remediationactionsand monitoring progress.

Prepare clear reporting,insightsand presentation materials for governance forums and senior stakeholders.

Contribute to awareness,trainingand communications that build data governance capability across the firm.

Support continuous improvement initiatives byidentifyingopportunities to simplify,standardiseand strengthen governance processes.

Whatwe’relooking for:

Experience in data governance, data management, information management, risk,complianceora relateddiscipline.

Experience curating data: writing business definitions, tagging assets, assigning owners, and mapping data lineage.

Understanding ofmetadata management and how data flows across systems.

A practical understanding of data governance concepts, including data ownership, stewardship, quality, lineage, metadata and controls.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information,identifyissuesand recommend practical actions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain governance requirements clearly to different audiences.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence working collaboratively across business and technology teams.

High attention to detail, with the ability tomaintainaccuraterecords and produce clear, well-structured documentation.

Strongorganisationalskills and the ability to manage competing priorities, follow-upactionsand deadlines.





A proactive,curiousand improvement-focused mindset, with a willingness to learn and take ownership of outcomes.

Experience with Microsoft 365 tools; exposure to data cataloguing, governance,reportingor workflow platforms(preferably Collibra)would beadvantageous.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications in data, information management, technology,riskor a related field would be desirable.

This role is being offered as a12-monthmax term contract.
