Support Workers – Casual & Part Time | Melbourne & Regional Victoria
You'll work one-to-one with participants in their homes and out in the community, supporting them to live independently and do the things that matter to them. Shifts are available across Melbourne (inner, north, east, south-east and west) and throughout regional Victoria. Wherever possible, participants are matched with support workers near where they live and with hours that suit availability — including mornings, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and active nights.
Key responsibilities
Assisting with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light domestic tasks, shopping and appointments
Providing personal care, including hygiene, grooming, dressing and mobility support
Supporting community access — social outings, recreation, sport, education, employment and volunteering
Building capacity and independence in line with each participant's NDIS goals
Providing transport in your own vehicle or the participant's vehicle where required
Medication prompting and support in line with plans and training
Accurate, timely case notes and reporting of incidents or changes in a participant's needs
Working respectfully alongside families, carers, allied health professionals and support coordinators
About you
Genuine empathy, patience and a person-centred approach
Reliability — participants count on you turning up as rostered
Strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently in someone's home
A commitment to participant choice, dignity, privacy and safety
Versatile availability across weekdays, evenings and/or weekends
Physical capacity to assist with transfers and manual handling tasks
NDIS Worker Screening Check (Victoria) — a current clearance, or a willingness to apply immediately
NDIS Worker Orientation Module — "Quality, Safety and You" certificate (free online, completed before commencement)
Current Australian driver's licence, comprehensively insured roadworthy vehicle, and willingness to transport participants
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
