Location: Lismore, NSW (Hybrid)

About the Role: An opportunity is available for a Management Accountant to join a purpose-driven organisation operating within the regulated community and not-for-profit sector. Based in Lismore, this role supports the organisation's financial management through accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and effective management of cashflow that supports essential community services.
n
Working within a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance requirements, and providing financial insights to support operational decision-making.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation
n
- Manage grant and funding accounting, including recognition, acquittals, and compliance reporting
n
- Coordinate end-of-month processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
n
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports
n
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
n
- Assist with internal and external audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation
n
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
n
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and funding accountability
n
- Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and internal controls
n
n
About You
n
You are a detail-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a structured environment and supporting organisations that deliver meaningful services to the community.
n
You Will Bring
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
n
- CPA or CA qualification (or currently working towards)
n
- Experience in management/financial accounting, reporting and reconciliations
n
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance
n
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities
n
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
n
