We are seeking an experienced and hands‐on Vegetation & Horticulture Manager to lead the implementation of our Vegetation Management Plan and play a key role in shaping the long‐term health, appearance and sustainability of our trees, shrubs, and native grassland areas.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, this is a hands‐on role. You will personally undertake much of the Club's vegetation and horticultural work, including the planning and delivery of planting, pruning, weed control and vegetation maintenance across the course.

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
- Personally undertake planting, pruning, weed control and vegetation maintenance across the golf course.
n
- Manage and enhance the health and presentation of trees, shrubs, and native grassland areas.
n
- Implement the Club's long‐term Vegetation Management Plan through practical on‐ground works.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve biodiversity,
landscape presentation and environmental outcomes.
n
- Work collaboratively with the Golf Course Maintenance team, directing assistance when required for larger vegetation projects.
n
- Ensure compliance with planning controls, environmental legislation and the requirements of the City of Boroondara, Melbourne Water and other relevant authorities.
n
- Assist with budgeting, procurement of plants and materials, contractor scheduling and purchasing.

About You
n
n
- Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Horticulture, Conservation & Land Management, Arboriculture or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated knowledge of trees, shrubs, indigenous flora, native grasslands and landscape management.
n
- Strong practical experience in horticulture, parks, golf courses, reserves, botanical gardens or similar landscape environments and an eye for detail.
n
- A passion for hands‐on outdoor work and creating high‐quality landscapes.
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
n
- Chemical Users Accreditation (ACDC or equivalent).
n
- Chainsaw competency/accreditation.
n
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to collaborate with others, coordinate contractors and work independently.
n
n
Excellent working conditions, with staff meals provided daily, all uniforms and equipment supplied.
