Job Description
To be considered for this contract you will need to be an Australian citizen and have a TSPV clearance or have had one in the recent past. Contract is due to commence September 26. Work from home is not an option for this position.

Defence is delivering an integrated suite of enhanced GEOINT capabilities through the GEOINT Platform. The GEOINT Platform will provide a consistent and seamless access point for GEOINT across Defence and the National Intelligence Community (NIC).
n
As a result, Defence is seeking to bring on a software engineering resource who will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions that meet business and user requirements to support the GEOINT mission system.
n
Some the key tasks will include:
n
n
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications, systems and components using approved programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
n
- Analyse business and technical requirements to develop effective, efficient software solutions.
n
- Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and share knowledge with team members.
n
- Work with project managers, product owners, business analysts, senior customers and other engineers on the design and to plan, estimate and deliver software solutions.
n
- Maintain and enhance existing software by identifying areas for improvement, refactoring code, and resolving defects.
n
- Ensure applications meet security, performance,
and scalability requirements.
n
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions as required.
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, providing timely fixes and root‐cause analysis.
n
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to systems, code, and development processes
n
n
As the ideal candidate you will have the following required capabilities:
n
n
- Skills in the specification and design of software to meet defined requirements by following agreed design standards and principles.
n
- Skills in software definition, components, interfaces and related characteristics.
n
- Have ability to identify concepts, patterns and able to translate that into a design, which provides a basis for software construction and verification.
n
- Have the ability to develop and iterate prototypes/simulations to enable informed decision-making.
n
- Capability to adopt and adapt software design models, tools and techniques based on the context of the work and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
n
- Experience in specifying and designing large or complex software components.
n
