Role & Responsibilities
- Design, build, document, and support secure REST APIs to enable seamless information exchange across core enterprise platforms and external entities.
- Implement API standards, naming conventions, versioning, and technical documentation while establishing reusable integration patterns.
- Configure and manage API policies, throttling, logging, and monitoring using Azure API Management or equivalent gateway services.
- Ensure secure API access by implementing robust authentication and authorisation mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, certificates)
in collaboration with cyber security specialists.
- Partner closely with Integration Architects, developers, and testing teams to assist with consumer onboarding, defect resolution, and performance tuning.
- Drive delivery within an Agile framework to support MVP releases and ongoing roadmap iterations.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Azure API Management (or equivalent API gateway technology), REST APIs, .NET / C#, JSON, XML, OAuth, JWT, and certificate-based security patterns.
- Experience: Strong background in API design and enterprise integration, with demonstrated experience troubleshooting distributed systems and exposure to event-driven architectures or asynchronous messaging.
- Core Capabilities: Proven success navigating complex, highly regulated government environments and working collaboratively within Agile multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current NV1 security clearance .
