Reporting into a senior People & Culture leader, you will lead a team of 6 direct reports and oversee key functions across payroll, employee systems and employee experience services. It is a VPS 6 contract role through to end of December 2026.

You will provide leadership across a diverse portfolio, including:

- Leading the payroll, employee services and employee experience functions
- Overseeing complex payroll matters and ensuring payroll processes and employment conditions are accurately maintained
- Managing employee systems and HR applications, including third-party support arrangements
- Ensuring workforce and establishment data is accurate and supports effective workforce planning
- Driving process improvement across people services and systems
- Providing high-quality advice on complex and sensitive employment-related matters





We are seeking an experienced people leader who can confidently operate in a complex and highly regulated environment. Ideally, you will bring:

- Previous experience leading payroll and employee services functions within a medium to large organisation
- Robust payroll oversight experience, including managing complex payroll issues and ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee matters and providing sound advice on employment-related issues
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building, developing and managing high-performing teams
- Experience within government, the public sector or another highly regulated environment will be highly regarded
