We're looking for an experienced Financial Accountant who enjoys strengthening controls, improving processes and raising standards across a complex organisation.

This is more than a traditional financial accounting role. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Head of Finance, you'll take ownership of critical accounting processes, contribute to audit and governance outcomes, and help drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

As GMHBA embarks on significant finance systems transformation, you'll have the opportunity to be involved in designing smarter ways of working, improving controls and helping shape the future finance operating environment.

What You'll Do

- Manage complex reconciliations across multiple business units,



ensuring accuracy, integrity and timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Strengthen financial controls and contribute to a robust governance framework.
- Support regulatory reporting obligations and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and policies.
- Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Health Services and Private Health Insurance to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate, simplify and enhance finance processes.
- Support external audit requirements and help maintain strong audit outcomes.
- Administer banking platforms and corporate credit card systems, ensuring appropriate controls and governance are maintained.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with banking partners and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- CAANZ or CPA qualification (or near completion).
- Strong experience in financial accounting, reconciliations and financial controls.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver process improvement initiatives.
- Sound understanding of accounting standards, compliance and governance requirements.




- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems.
- The confidence to challenge existing processes constructively and recommend better ways of working.
