I’m currently working with a highly regarded specialist engineering consultancy to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Sydney team. This is a genuinely hands‑on role, working across large-scale Class 2 residential and commercial developments, with a particular focus on structural risk assessment, building diagnostics, forensic investigation and remediation.

The chance You’ll be involved in:

- Conducting structural inspections, investigations and site assessments across construction and completed buildings
- Undertaking desktop reviews and risk assessments of structural drawings, identifying potential design and construction risks
- Investigating defects including concrete cancer, movement, façade issues and waterproofing failures
- Developing structural remediation, strengthening and rectification designs
- Preparing technical reports, specifications and expert witness documentation
- Working closely with clients, builders and other project stakeholders to communicate complex structural issues clearly




- Ensuring designs and recommendations align with Australian Standards, NCC and relevant NSW legislation

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking to move into a specialist role with significant technical ownership and exposure to complex, high‑value projects.

You’ll ideally have:

- 6–8+ years’ structural engineering experience, with strong exposure to Class 2 developments and a background in remediation, forensic engineering, building diagnostics or structural assessment.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering is required, with CPEng/NPEng or Registered Design Practitioner (DBP) experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of concrete pathology, waterproofing, strengthening techniques, Australian Standards and NCC is important, alongside excellent technical report‑writing and communication skills.
