About the Role

n

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Laundry Supervisor to join our growing commercial laundry operation in Cairns. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day laundry operations, ensuring linen is processed efficiently, safely, and to a consistently high standard.

n

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a rapid-paced laundry, hospitality, hotel, or production environment.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Supervise and coordinate daily laundry operations and production.
n
- Lead, train, and support laundry team members.
n
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor staff productivity.
n
- Ensure linen is washed, dried, ironed, folded, sorted, and packed to required standards.
n
- Operate and oversee commercial laundry equipment and machinery.
n
- Monitor linen quality and ensure items meet customer and company standards.
n
- Identify and report damaged, stained, or missing linen.
n
- Ensure customer orders are accurately prepared and dispatched on time.
n
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing linen and assist with stock control.
n
- Monitor chemical usage and ensure correct laundry procedures are followed.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
n
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
n




- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and report any machinery faults promptly.
n
- Ensure production targets and delivery deadlines are consistently met.
n
- Work closely with management and the delivery team to ensure smooth daily operations.
n
- Assist with rostering and staff scheduling as required.Maintain accurate production and stock records.
n
- Support continuous improvement of laundry processes and efficiency.
n

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous experience in a commercial laundry, hotel laundry, hospitality, or production environment.
n
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
n
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
n
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
n
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
n
- Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role.
n
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.

- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

- Current driver's licence.
