The Role We are seeking an experienced Security Engineerto join a high-performing cyber security and technology delivery team. This is a hands‐on role focused on designing and implementing security controls, assessing security risks, and embedding security‐by‐design principles throughout solution delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring technology solutions meet organisational security requirements while supporting compliance, accreditation, and governance obligations. The ideal candidate will bring strong security architecture experience, a deep understanding of security frameworks and controls, and a proven track record of supporting secure technology delivery across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement product‐specific security controls aligned with organisational security requirements and standards.
n
- Provide security architecture guidance for technology solutions, platforms, applications, and services.
n
- Perform security assessments, threat modelling, vulnerability reviews, and risk analysis activities.
n
- Identify security risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies and security controls.
n
- Embed security‐by‐design principles throughout the project and delivery lifecycle.
n
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers,



architects, and stakeholders to ensure security requirements are incorporated into solution design and implementation.
n
- Review solution architectures, technical designs, and implementation approaches to ensure security compliance.
n
- Support security testing, validation, and assurance activities throughout delivery.
n
- Assist with vulnerability remediation planning and risk treatment activities.
n
- Support accreditation and compliance activities, including evidence gathering and security documentation.
n
- Develop and maintain security artefacts, architecture documents, risk assessments, and security implementation guidance.
n
- Contribute to governance reviews, security audits, and compliance assessments.
n
- Provide security advice on industry standards, regulatory obligations, and security best practices.
n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen security processes, controls, and delivery practices.

What You'll Need

n

n
- Experience as a Security Architect, Cyber Security Consultant, Security Engineer, or similar cyber security role.
n
- Strong experience in security architecture and secure solution design.
n
- Proven experience designing and implementing security controls across enterprise technology environments.
n
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, threat analysis, and security reviews.
n
- Strong understanding of security‐by‐design principles and secure delivery practices.
n
- Experience supporting compliance, accreditation, governance, and assurance activities.
n
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST,



Essential Eight, ISM, or similar.
n
- Experience conducting risk assessments and developing security recommendations.
n
- Robust understanding of identity and access management, security monitoring, encryption, and data protection principles.
n
- Experience working with business and technical stakeholders to translate security requirements into practical solutions.
n
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and risk management capabilities.

Desirable Skills

- Experience securing cloud environments across Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
n
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and secure software development lifecycles.
n
- Experience supporting technology accreditation and security assessment processes.
n
- Understanding of application security, API security, and container security concepts.
n
- Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing remediation, or security tooling.
n
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, CCSP, Azure Security Engineer, or equivalent.
n
- Experience working within large‐scale enterprise or government transformation programs.
n
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements across highly regulated environments.
