At Randstad Defence, we're proud to be partnering with Electro Optic Systems (EOS)-a leading force in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced defence systems- currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to Lead their Mechanical Engineering team in Canberra. About the role:

n

The Mechanical Engineering Lead (Bespoke) evolves the Mechanical Engineering capability enabling EOS to deliver to business objectives, contributing to EOS' competitive advantage, and fostering future growth.

n

The Mechanical Engineering Lead (Bespoke) team develops additional bespoke parts for our world-leading Remote Weapon Stations, adapting the RWS to varied customer requirements within tight project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Lead a mechanical engineering team ensuring timely delivery,



staff professional development and continual capability growth.
n
- Manage and mentor staff
n
- Identify and assess design risks, authorised as the Product Risk Acceptor for LOW risks.
n
- Ensure that design engineering work is done to defined quality standards, including effective information and configuration management.
n
- Develop and review engineering work with standards agreed with the Chief Engineer.
n

Qualifications and Experience:

n

n
- Over 10 years' experience within mechanical design or in similar role
n
- Over 3 years' experience leading teams and/or managing stakeholders.
n
- Familiarity with Defence regulatory frameworks and associated processes is desirable.
n
- Extensive knowledge of design, Australian Standards, ASME codes.
n
- Experience in design tools like 3D modelling, Ansys will be added advantage
n
- Eligible for charted status and registration in the ACT.
n
