Duty Manager – Magpie Sports Club

Join the Magpie Sports Club team as our next Duty Manager and be part of a role where leadership, customer service and teamwork are at the heart of what we do.

We’re a proud part of Communal Group, and we’re all about creating a welcoming club for our members, guests and local community. This is a hands-on role where no two shifts are the same from food and beverage and gaming to events, customer service and supporting the team on the floor.

About the role

As Duty Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club during your shift and making sure our members and guests have a great experience.

You’ll be involved in:

- Leading, supporting and motivating the team during each shift
- Overseeing food, beverage, gaming and general club operations
- Ensuring high standards of customer service
- Managing customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally
- Supporting the team during busy periods, functions and events
- Ensuring responsible service of alcohol and gaming requirements are followed
- Completing opening and closing procedures and shift handovers
- Monitoring club presentation, cleanliness and safety
- Managing incidents and escalating matters when required




- Supporting training and development of team members
- Working closely with management to ensure the club runs smoothly

About you

You might already be working as a Duty Manager or Supervisor, or you may be ready to take the next step into management.

We’re looking for someone who has:

- Previous experience in a club, hospitality, hotel or similar workplace
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example
- A genuine passion for customer service
- The confidence to make decisions and manage situations as they arise
- The ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment
- A positive attitude and a willingness to get involved
- Current RSA/RCG and Advanced RCG
- The ability to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
