About the Tasmanian State ServiceThe Tasmanian State Service (TSS)is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels, and within more than 200...
Our paediatric ward is supported by a dedicated, compassionate team of nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional care to children and their families. The team is made up of skilled Registered and Enrolled Nurses who work collaboratively to provide safe, high-quality, family-centred care to infants, children, and adolescents across a range of acute and complex presentations.
Paediatric nurses on our ward combine strong clinical expertise with a child-friendly approach, tailoring care to each child's developmental, emotional, and physical needs. They are highly skilled in assessment, medication administration, care planning, pain management, and recognising clinical deterioration, while also creating a warm, reassuring environment that helps children feel safe and supported.
Family-centred care is central to our practice. Nurses work in partnership with parents and carers, actively involving them in their child's care, providing education and emotional support, and recognising families as key members of the healthcare team.
Our paediatric nursing team works closely with medical staff, allied health professionals, educators, and play specialists to deliver holistic care. The ward culture is supportive, inclusive, and focused on teamwork, professional development, and continuous improvement. We value kindness, flexibility, and a commitment to advocacy for children and young people.
Joining our team means becoming part of a caring, knowledgeable, and resilient group of nurses who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families every day.
