The Human Resource Manager is responsible for planning, developing and managing the organisation’s human resource functions to support the effective delivery of NDIS services. The role oversees workforce planning, recruitment, employee training, performance management, employee relations and workplace compliance, ensuring the organisation maintains a skilled and reliable workforce to meet the needs of its participants and operational requirements.

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the organisation’s human resource activities, including workforce planning, recruitment, employee development, performance management and workplace relations. The role works closely with management and employees to ensure effective HR practices, compliance and a positive workplace environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop, implement and review human resource strategies and workforce plans to ensure Back to Basic for Your Support Pty Ltd. maintains an appropriately skilled, qualified and reliable workforce to deliver safe and person-centred NDIS support services.
- Assess workforce requirements in consultation with management and coordinate recruitment and selection of support workers, carers and other employees to ensure suitable staff are available to meet participant needs and service demand.
- Manage employee onboarding and induction processes, ensuring current workers understand their responsibilities, participant rights, privacy and confidentiality requirements, organisational policies, safeguarding obligations and NDIS-related workplace procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor mandatory training and professional development for employees, including training relevant to participant support, health and safety, incident management, restrictive practices where applicable, infection control and other requirements relevant to their roles.




- Monitor employee qualifications, licences, worker screening requirements, background checks, training records and other employment-related compliance requirements to ensure workers remain appropriately authorised and competent to perform their duties.
- Develop and monitor employee performance management processes to ensure support workers meet organisational expectations, maintain professional conduct and provide services consistent with participant needs and the organisation's quality standards.
- Advise management and employees on employment conditions, workplace conduct, employee relations, performance matters and other HR issues arising within the delivery of NDIS support services.
- Monitor staffing levels, employee availability, absenteeism and turnover and coordinate workforce planning to maintain adequate staffing coverage and continuity of support for NDIS participants.
- Work with management to identify workforce gaps and develop recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain suitable support workers and other employees required for ongoing service delivery.
- Support the implementation of workplace health and safety, participant safeguarding, equal employment opportunity and employee wellbeing practices across the organisation.
- Assist management with the appropriate handling and documentation of employee-related incidents, complaints, grievances and disciplinary matters, particularly where employee conduct may affect participant safety, wellbeing or quality of support.




- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including employment, training, screening, qualification and performance documentation, and ensure HR records are maintained in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice and training to managers and supervisors on staff management, employee conduct, performance, workforce planning and the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures within an NDIS service environment.
- Monitor workforce trends, employment costs and staffing requirements and provide management with recommendations to improve employee retention, workforce capability and the overall efficiency and continuity of NDIS service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

- Must have a relevant associate degree, advanced diploma, diploma or higher qualification.
- At least 2 years of full-time relevant experience.
- In some cases, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.
- Strong teamwork abilities, communication skills, and capacity to follow instructions accurately.
