CNC & Edge Bander Machinist (joinery environment)

Cairns Flat Packs & Kilfoy Cabinets are seeking a CNC & Edge Bander Machinist to join our team in Cairns, QLD - on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-established company in the tropical Cairns region. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $32-$40 per hour, negotiable based on experience. We also work 4.5 days per week with the opportunity for overtime.

What you'll be doing

n

Operate CNC machinery

n

Operate EDGE BANDER

n

Troubleshoot any issues with machines and perform routine maintenance

n

Collaborate with the broader production team to ensure timely delivery of projects

n

Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety protocols

n

Pack, secure and label items for freight dispatch

n

What we're looking for

n

Proven experience as a CNC & Edge Bander Machinist, ideally within a joinery or woodworking environment

n

A minimum of 3-5 years of CNC & Edge Bander machining experience is required

n

Strong technical skills and the ability to read and interpret workshop drawings

n

Proficient in operating a range of joinery workshop machinery, including routers, saws etc...

n





Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

n

Good problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot and optimise machine performance

n

A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

n

Either formal trade qualifications in CNC machining/joinery or equivalent relevant experience will be accepted

n

Forklift Licence is advantageous
