About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Director/Educational Leader to join our team.
As the Assistant Director and Educational Leader, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting educators to deliver high-quality educational programs and practices. You will work alongside the team to inspire reflective practice, mentor educators, strengthen pedagogy, and promote a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth.
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will actively engage with educators in both indoor and outdoor learning environments,
supporting the implementation of meaningful learning experiences that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
Key Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with the Centre Director to support the day-to-day administration of the service
- Lead, inspire, mentor, and support educators to continuously improve teaching practices and learning outcomes.
- Foster a culture of critical reflection, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of engaging, play-based learning programs.
- Guide educators in documenting children's learning and development in meaningful and purposeful ways.
- Promote best practice in accordance with the EYLF, NQS, and current early childhood research.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, educators, and the wider community.
- Support the Centre's Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Champion children's rights, voices, and participation in all aspects of the program.
About You
You are a passionate early childhood professional who is committed to excellence in education and care.
You enjoy mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and supporting educators to reach their full potential.
You will have:
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF), and National Quality Standard (NQS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Experience working within an early childhood education and care setting.
- Previous leadership experience or experience supporting and mentoring educators.
- A commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- A genuine passion for supporting children, families, and educators.
- ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Foundation of Child Safety Training.
- Food Safety/Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability to work adaptable shifts between 7am and 6:00pm.
