Maintenance Fitter - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical upkeep of our production lines and maintaining all machinery to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

n

Your role will involve proactively identifying and resolving issues, utilising your strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns swiftly. You will also perform scheduled preventive maintenance daily to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.

You will also support key Maintenance & Engineering initiatives such as new line setups and continuous improvement programs.

n

Responsibilities Include / What you will do

n

Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure continuity of production.

n

Perform maintenance activities within GMP-controlled manufacturing environments, including the Cytotoxic Mix Room, while adhering to all safety and operational requirements.

n

Perform repairs and troubleshooting on plant and production equipment in a timely and to maintain efficient operations.

n

Collaborate with production teams to minimise disruptions and improve efficiency

n

Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)



to plan, record, and manage maintenance activities.

n

Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and efficiency, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in collaboration with Production and Engineering teams.

n

Participate in Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, including risk assessments, equipment modifications, and safety improvement projects.

n

Manage and comply with permit-to-work systems, including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, and Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.

n

Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures

n

Support engineering projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Essential Skills & Experience / What you will bring

n

Trade qualification – Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent)

n

Experience in GMP or FMCG manufacturing environment

n

Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills on mechanical plant and equipment.

n

Commitment to safety and continuous improvement

n

Robust communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
