Senior IT Infrastructure & Compliance Specialist (Contract)

Based at Ingleburn, NSW
n
6-month – Fixed- Term Contract role
n

ABCorp is seeking an experienced and hands-on person to take on ownership and drive the compliance outcomes of a project whilst managing inhouse IT Infrastructure. This is a wide-ranging role focusing on Windows Server Infrastructure that impact the core business systems.
n
This position will report to the Head of Infrastructure – Australasia.
n
Role
n
A senior, hands-on role split evenly between two halves: 50% performing operational IT infrastructure tasks across server, network, on-premises, and cloud environments, and 50% analysing and responding to regulatory compliance audit questions for IRAP, SOC 2, and PCI. You'll act as the go-to person for both hands-on infrastructure work and technical audit response during the engagement and will build tooling to make future audit responses faster.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
n
Operational IT (50%)
n
Own and support server and network infrastructure across on-premises data centre environments and cloud platforms – Azure preferred.
n
Design, troubleshoot, and harden infrastructure components including virtualisation, storage, networking, and identity.
n
Work hands-on with infrastructure systems setup and support end to end,
from build through to steady-state operations.
n
Provide operational, ad-hoc support to the business as issues and requests arise onsite.
n
Regulatory compliance audit analysis and response (50%)
n
Analyse and respond to regulator and auditor questions against IRAP, SOC 2, and PCI requirements, preparing clear, technically accurate written answers.
n
Maintain evidence and documentation to support ongoing audit assessments.
n
Build and maintain a Claude AI Project that analyses PCI-CPP, SOC 2, and IRAP audit reports against bespoke ABCorp data, to be able to serve future audits faster and more consistently.
n
Support the Ingleburn team with compliance and infrastructure audit related questions where relevant.
n
Skills and experience:
n
Strong, demonstrated experience in server and network infrastructure, spanning both on-premises and cloud (Azure preferred).
n
A hands‐on approach, comfortable moving between planned project work and ad‐hoc operational support.
n
Experience in preparing responses to IRAP, SOC 2, or PCI audit and regulator questions on technical controls, including cryptography and database access control (would be ideal).
n
Practical experience with Claude AI (or comparable LLM tools), able to build a working project or workflow that ingests company‐specific data and produces audit‐ready analysis.
n
Solid IT security knowledge and experience hardening infrastructure against common threats.
n
Highly organised with effective planning and prioritising skills to meet agreed timelines.
n
Exceptional problem‐solving, analytical and diagnostic skills.
n
Technical & Functional Requirements
n
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
n
Strong attention to detail with the ability to validate complex configurations and datasets
n
Desirable certifications:
n
CISSP
n
Cloud certifications (Azure / AWS)
n
ITIL or equivalent service management experience
n
