Trainer Assessor & Workplace Health and Safety Advisor

This is a unique dual-focus position for someone who thrives on variety. You'll split your time between delivering high-quality training and assessment to learners, and providing practical, hands-on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) advice and support across the business. It's an ideal role for a safety professional who also loves to teach, or an experienced trainer looking to deepen their WHS specialisation.

Key responsibilities

- Develop & deliver engaging training across the business and contractors
- Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments in line with Standards
- Develop and review training materials, assessment tools and learner resources
- Provide constructive feedback and support to learners, including those requiring additional assistance
- Maintain accurate training and assessment records in line with compliance requirements
- Provide day-to-day WHS advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and staff
- Support the development, implementation and review of WHS policies, procedures and safe work practices
- Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification
- Investigate incidents, near misses and hazards, and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with WHS training needs analysis and deliver toolbox talks/inductions
- Support compliance with relevant WHS legislation, codes of practice and Australian Standards




- Contribute to a positive safety culture across the organisation

About you

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) — essential
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent experience) — essential
- Proven experience in a training/assessment role
- Solid working knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and industry best practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage learners and stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident using training management systems and Microsoft Office
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites as required
- Industry-specific licences/tickets if relevant, e.g. White Card, high-risk work licence
