About the Role
We are seeking an EHS Senior Associate to join our team in Burnie, Tasmania. This role is ideal for an Environmental, Health & Safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams to promote a robust safety culture and ensure compliance with EHS regulations, policies, and best practices. Working across our manufacturing and engineering environment, you will support the delivery of EHS programs, conduct inspections and risk assessments, maintain critical compliance records, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workplace safety and environmental performance.
In This Role
- You’ll Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and assessments to monitor Environmental, Health & Safety performance
- Support compliance with Caterpillar EHS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with the identification, assessment, and mitigation of workplace hazards and risks
- Participate in incident investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions
- Maintain EHS records, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance and data accuracy
- Assist in the delivery of EHS training, awareness programs, and safety initiatives
- Support emergency preparedness activities and workplace safety programs
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures
- Collaborate with leaders and employees to promote a positive, proactive safety culture
- Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across the facility
- Assist with EHS projects that improve operational performance, compliance, and employee wellbeing
What You'll Bring
- Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related discipline
- Experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety, manufacturing, industrial, or operational environment
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance requirements
- Experience conducting risk assessments, inspections, audits, or incident investigations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement
- Highly Regarded
- Experience within manufacturing, mining, heavy industry, engineering, or industrial operations
- Knowledge of EHS management systems and compliance frameworks
- Experience delivering safety training or facilitating toolbox talks
- Familiarity with incident reporting and investigation processes
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Understanding of environmental management and sustainability principles
