Due to continued production growth, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced A Certified Mechanical Maintenance Fitterto join their highly skilled maintenance team.
n
This role is responsible for ensuring plant equipment, machinery and automated production systems operate safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime through preventative and breakdown maintenance. Working within a modern manufacturing facility, you will become part of a collaborative maintenance team responsible for supporting continuous improvement initiatives, fault finding and maintaining critical production assets.

Role Tasks & Duties:
n
n
- Work includes machine maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic machines, fabrication of mechanical parts and assemblies, routine inspections, die setting & mould changes.
n
- Providing support for the factory's production operations including troubleshooting and repairs.
n
- Fabrication of equipment & components that will be fitted to machinery, utilising some creativity at times.
n
- Installation of new equipment when required, which will include testing & final commissioning into service tasks.
n
- Perform preventative, predictive and reactive mechanical maintenance across industrial manufacturing equipment.
n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on automated production machinery and plant equipment.
n
- Carry out maintenance on conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, belts,
rollers and power transmission systems.
n
- Install, overhaul and replace mechanical components to minimise production downtime.
n
- Align motors, gearboxes and rotating equipment using precision measuring equipment.
n
- Perform hydraulic and pneumatic fault finding, repairs and component replacement.
n
- Service compressors, pumps, valves and associated production equipment.
n
- Conduct machine changeovers, breakdown repairs and scheduled shutdown maintenance.
n
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical manuals and engineering documentation.
n
- Complete maintenance work orders, equipment history and preventative maintenance records accurately.
n
- Assist with installation, commissioning and modification of new production equipment.
n
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
n
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with workplace health, safety and quality requirements.
n
- Support production teams during equipment breakdowns to minimise operational downtime.
n
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager
n

Required Skills, Experience and Competencies:
n
n
- Hold a recognised Australian Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent / ).
n
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter within an industrial manufacturing or automated production environment.
n
- Proven welding experience of manufacturing equipment.
n
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
n
- Experience maintaining rotating equipment including motors, pumps, gearboxes and conveyors.
n
- Demonstrated experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and mechanical assembly documentation.
n
- Experience using precision measuring equipment including dial indicators, micrometers and verniers.
n
- Welding and fabrication experience will be highly regarded.
n
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs.
n
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
n
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
n
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
n

Additional requirements:
n
n
- Exposure to automated manufacturing or heavy industrial environments will be highly regarded.
n
- Will be expected to undergo a Rail CAT 3 pre-employment medical including laboratory Drug & Alcohol Screening.
n
- Must successfully complete an Australian Police Check.
n
- Hold full time unlimited Australian working rights.
n
- A valid NSW HRW Forklift (LF) Licence is highly desirable.
n
- The business is subject to applicable public health requirements which may change from time to time.

What Is On Offer?

- – $57.20 Per Hour for stand hours.
n
- – Allowances: Shift Loadings & Overtime Time Rates Paid When Worked.
n
- – Fortnightly rotating Days & Afternoon Mon – Thurs shift, with an early Fri finish.
n
- – Standard Working Hours:
n
- DayShift: –Mon – Thurs = 6:00am = 3:00pm, Fri = 6:00am – 12:00pm
n
- Afternoon Shift: – Mon – Thurs = 2:30pm – 10:00pm, Fri = 12:00pm – 6:00pm.
n
- – Initial 6 Months contract, with a view to extend & permanent pathway succession plans thereafter.
n
