We are seeking experienced and motivated Clinical Lead GPs at our Hunter/Newcastle UCCs to provide visible, on-site leadership within our modern Urgent Care Centres. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor clinicians, support high-quality patient care, and help shape the future of urgent care delivery.

Working closely with the UCC State Clinical Lead and State Clinical Director (SCD), you will play a key role in strengthening clinical governance, supporting the medical workforce, and maintaining operational excellence at a local level.

About the Role
n
As a Clinical Lead GP in the Hunter, you will:
n
n
- Provide visible, site-based clinical leadership within the Urgent Care Centre
n
- Support and mentor GPs, nurses, and administrative staff
n
- Act as the first point of contact for clinical guidance and complex presentations
n
- Promote clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
n
- Support workforce stability and foster a positive clinical culture
n
- Assist in maintaining consistent operational performance across the site
n
- Collaborate closely with the State Clinical Lead and State Clinical Director
n
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Vocational Registration (VR) with unrestricted AHPRA registration
n
- Current ALS certification
n
- Minimum 2 years' post-fellowship experience, ideally within Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
n
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
n
- The ability to balance clinical and operational priorities in a quick-paced environment
n
- A passion for supporting teams and delivering outstanding patient care
n
n
