Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Easily accessible to Sydney residents, our team of clinicians, allied health, and support staff works with the community on a shared goal to maintain the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Blue Mountains region.

Be the voice and face of two vital Blue Mountains healthcare facilities as an Emergency Department & Switchboard Administration Officer. In this role you'll play a critical frontline role supporting Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital and Springwood Hospital, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring patients, visitors and staff receive timely assistance when it matters most.

Working within a supportive team on a 24/7 rotating roster, you'll manage patient administration functions within the Emergency Department, facilitate hospital-wide telephony and paging services, and coordinate emergency call responses. This fast-paced role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys variety, and takes pride in delivering accurate, professional and compassionate service.

What you will bring to the role

- Experience in an administration and/or customer service role including the provision of both of face-to face and telephone-based services
- Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills, including ability to liaise with patients/families who may be distressed, upset, angry or aggressive
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, with demonstrated problem solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with IT systems and programs including MS Office. Experience working with health-related programs highly regarded.
- Ability to manage workload in a busy and demanding environment to ensure timeframes and KPIs are met
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in the context of a healthcare setting
- Ability to work and maintain a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week rotating roster including flexibility to work additional shifts as requested
