Working in the Development Team, the newly created position of Assistant Project Manager - Development will be a pivotal role in assisting the successful coordination of development projects from post development approval through to operational works and plan sealing stage. This is a key role that will be the glue that enhances development outcomes and operating efficiencies in between the various stages of concurrent projects and will appeal to someone who enjoys working in the detail and grey areas to facilitate project readiness for civil and building delivery.
This will appeal to an Assistant Project Manager or Project Coordinator looking for a clear pathway into a Project Manager role within property development and who might be working in residential development, civil or building project coordination. The successful candidate will take carriage of assigned projects, coordinating external consultants, authority stakeholders, and supporting internal teams to translate acquisition intent, feasibility studies,
approval conditions, and design requirements into actionable project plans. You will assist in preparing clear project checklists that incorporate programs and schedules, monitor approvals, track risks, and ensure smooth handovers across Civil, Construction, Sales, and Finance functions.
The role requires someone who takes ownership for outcomes whilst asking the right questions to anticipate project risks and bottlenecks and exceptional organizational skills to manage competing priorities calmly under pressure. You enjoy being an allrounder who takes a pro-active approach in being able to chase down solutions, resolve problems and assist the team to continuously improve whilst being open to learning and growing in the role. Solid communication is essential to coordinate effectively with a range of external consultants including town planners, engineers, certifiers, and with internal teams, ensuring project documentation and approvals remain accurate and up to date.
Ideally, candidates will hold tertiary qualifications related to project management, construction, or engineering and possess some early career experience in residential development, civil project coordination, and or development management. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, project tracking tools, and document control systems is expected.
