Australian Facilities Projects is looking for a qualified Carpenter to join our growing projects team.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated tradesperson who wants more than just an other carpentry job. You’ll work across a variety of commercial, government and Defence projects, gaining exposure to different sites, materials, scopes of work and technical challenges.
You’ll be involved in a mix of formwork, framing, fit‑outs, finishing works, minor maintenance and project‑based works, using your skills across timber, steel, joinery components and general building materials.
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to keep developing their trade skills in a stable and supportive business.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Carry out carpentry, fitting, finishing and minor maintenance works across commercial and government sites
- Support both planned and reactive works in line with client and statutory requirements
- Read and interpret plans, drawings and job instructions
- Work across a range of projects including framing, fit‑outs, formwork, repairs and general building works
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and other trades when required
- Deliver high-quality workmanship across all stages of the job
- Maintain a safe work environment for yourself, your team, clients and the general public
- Work as part of a practical,
rapid‑paced team that values reliability, communication and a strong work ethic
What you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Current carpentry trade qualification
- Current driver’s licence
- White Card
- Working at Heights certification, or willingness to obtain
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
- Australian Citizenship, due to Defence clearance requirements
- National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one with our support
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Positive communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
