Role Overview

We are looking for an organised, creative and community minded Event & Partnerships Coordinator to help bring our people, community and partners together through meaningful events and strong relationships.

This is a hands on role where you’ll coordinate events from the first idea through to delivery,



while building partnerships that support MDAS, strengthen community connections and align with our values.

Working collaboratively, you will be the central point of coordination for organisational, staff and community events. You’ll make sure events are well planned, culturally appropriate, inclusive and delivered smoothly. You will also build and maintain positive relationships with community organisations, Elders, government agencies, businesses, funding bodies and other stakeholders, identifying opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and collaboration that benefit our community.

This is a permanent full time position based in our Mildura office.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate community, staff and organisational events from concept through to delivery and evaluation.
- Develop event plans, timelines, budgets, run sheets, risk assessments and operational checklists. Manage registrations, invitations, attendance lists and event communications.
- Work closely with community members, Elders and cultural representatives to ensure events reflect cultural protocols and community expectations.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and collaboration that align with MDAS values and priorities.




- Coordinate planning across internal teams and maintain a central calendar of organisational and community events.
- Work closely with the Media team to ensure accurate and timely event information and promotion.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

- Demonstrated experience in the coordination and delivery of events,
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work as a team and independently,
- A demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander people,
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to oversee tasks to full completion within required timeframes and respond to enquiries in a respectful and timely manner,
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive engagement opportunities for internal and external stakeholders,
- Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services,
- Qualification or previous experience in event management, business, administration, marketing or related fields.

- Current National Police Check.
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
- Current Driver's Licence
