Operations Assistant
Reporting to: Head of Event Operations
Purpose
This position will provide administrative and on-ground support for the Operations and Infrastructure team for the Melbourne Cup Carnival 2026 build and delivery.

Stakeholders

Internal: Executive team, department heads, managers, Board of Directors, and the broader VRC team.

External: VRC members, customers, clients, suppliers, vendors, and relevant industry networks and associations.

Focus

- Provide operational support for the operations, infrastructure and hospitality teams for the duration of The Melbourne Cup Carnival build and delivery.
- Provide administrative excellence and oversee delivery of actions, support for implementation of processes
- Provide site support for our delivery team
- Event day operational support
- Event day – Help Desk
- Contribute to a team-oriented, high-performing team culture and support continuous improvement.

Success Measures (KPIs)

- High stakeholder satisfaction scores and positive feedback from Operations and Infrastructure team
