About the Opportunity:
n A leading higher education institution is launching a Curriculum Quality and Sustainability (CQS) analytics tool in January 2027. They're seeking a Power BI Specialist to own the delivery from data pipelines and modelling through to dashboards and stakeholder handover.

n

This is a high-impact, autonomous role that sits at the intersection of project delivery and operational support. You'll work across the full analytics stack and partner with three distinct teams - the CQS project team, the Planning & Analytics BAU team (faculty-facing) and data engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and build ETL pipelines using Power Query, M language and SQL
n
- Architect data models to support complex, multi-stakeholder reporting
n
- Create intuitive, decision-ready dashboards and reports
n
- Translate faculty and leadership requirements into technical specifications
n
- Train and hand over to the BAU team post-launch
n
- Coordinate with data engineering on schema, governance and technical debt
n

Must-Haves:

n

n




- Advanced Power BI capability across data modelling, ETL, and front-end design
n
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts
n
- Proven ability to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders
n
- Delivery track record on analytics or BI projects
n
- Autonomous working style - comfortable balancing competing priorities
n

Nice-to-Haves:

n

n
- Experience in higher education or student data systems
n
- PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
n
- Python or R for data pre-processing
n

n

The Details:

- Engagement: 12 month contract
n
- Rate: $900 - $1,200/day +Super
n
- Location: Sydney, hybrid, 2 - 3 days onsite
n
- Start: ASAP
n
- Closing: Monday 10th August
n
