About the Role

n

Reporting to the Sailing Manager, you will coordinate and deliver BYS's sail training and development programs, working closely with instructors, coaches, volunteers and members.

n

You'll play a central role in ensuring participants have a high-quality, engaging experience - from their first time on the water through to ongoing involvement in club sailing.

n

This role is offered as:

- Part-time, or

- Full-time combined with additional coaching responsibilities (for suitably qualified applicants)

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Coordinate and deliver Discover Sailing Centre programs, including:n n
- Tackers, Junior & Youth programs
n
- Adult Dinghy & Keelboat Learn to Sail
n
- OutThere Sailing and J/70 youth pathways
n
- School and group programs
n
- Discover Sailing Experiences and Events
n

n
- Manage course administration, including bookings, payments and communications
n




- Coordinate and roster instructors and coaches, including workforce planning
n
- Support instructor development, training and upskilling pathways
n
- Facilitate participant progression into club sailing and membership
n
- Assist with sailing program operations, including racing and regattas as required
n
- Maintain strong relationships with members, participants, schools and key stakeholders
n
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of BYS sailing programs
n

Essential:

- Strong organisational and administrative skills
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Availability to work weekends and flexible hours, particularly during peak summer periods
n
- A proactive, positive approach with a commitment to participant experience
n
- Working With Children Check
n

n

Desirable:

n

n
- Sailing background with coaching/instructor qualifications
n
- Experience delivering or coordinating sail training programs
n
- Experience working with sportsboat or keelboat programs
n
- Experience working with volunteers and community sport environments
n
- Knowledge of Australian Sailing pathways and Discover Sailing programs
n
