An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Winemaker & Bottling Coordinator to join our production team. This role is ideal for someone looking to further develop their winemaking career while taking ownership of our bottling operations.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Winemaker, you will play a key role across all aspects of wine production throughout the year. The position combines hands-on cellar work with responsibility for planning and coordinating our bottling schedule to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
This is a diverse position offering genuine responsibility and career progression within a growing, family-owned business.
Your Responsibilities
Winemaking:
- Assist in all aspects of wine production from grape receival through to bottling
- Fermentation management including pump overs, rackings and additions
- Wine transfers, blending and filtration
- Barrel work including filling, topping and maintenance
- Laboratory analysis and quality control testing
- Cellar hygiene and equipment sanitation
- Vintage preparation and execution
- Assist with inventory management and stock control
Bottling Coordination
- Plan and coordinate the annual bottling schedule
- Liaise with mobile bottling contractors and suppliers
- Ensure wines are prepared and ready for bottling
- Coordinate packaging requirements including bottles, labels, cartons and closures
- Maintain packaging inventory levels
- Conduct quality assurance checks throughout bottling runs
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Coordinate finished goods movement and storage
General Responsibilities
- Operate winery machinery and equipment safely
- Assist with warehouse operations and logistics
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs
- Work collaboratively with vineyard, sales and administration teams
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across production

About You
You are passionate about wine production and enjoy working in a hands-on environment. You are organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Qualification in Oenology, Viticulture or a related field (or currently studying)
- Numerous years of previous winery and cellar experience
- Solid organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current driver's licence
- Physically fit and capable of manual work
