Your opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and innovative English/HASS Teacher to join our College community for the 2027 academic year in a fixed term, full time role.
This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is committed to creating engaging learning experiences and who understands the unique needs of students in the middle years of schooling.
Working within a collaborative and future-focused learning environment, you will inspire students to think critically, communicate confidently, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their community, and the wider world.
The successful applicant will:
- Teach English and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) across Years 7 - 9, with potential opportunities across the wider Secondary School.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging and informed curriculum programs for students that foster a love of learning.
- Foster curiosity, critical thinking, literacy development, and global citizenship.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment that supports student wellbeing and achievement.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the pastoral care and holistic development of students.
- Actively participate in the life of the College through extracurricular and community activities.
You will be a passionate educator who brings energy, professionalism and a commitment to student wellbeing. You will have:
- Provisional or full registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
- Strong curriculum knowledge in English and HASS
- Understanding of contemporary approaches to middle years pedagogy
- Demonstrated ability to implement information and communication technology into teaching and learning
- Skills and sensitivity in communicating with parents, students and other employees
