Carolina PRG is partnering with a global organization to find an experienced Payroll Tax Specialist to support a high-performing payroll department based in Charlotte, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced, transactional workplace and is eager to play a key role in payroll tax compliance, process improvement, and entity consolidation efforts.

Responsibilities

n

n
- Support the transition of payroll frequency from semimonthly to biweekly
n
- Collaborate on an project consolidating multiple companies into one unified structure
n
- Provide guidance to the Payroll Manager on federal, state, and local payroll tax issues
n
- Prepare, review, and file payroll tax returns and documents, including wage and garnishment-related filings
n
- Manage year-end payroll tax activities, including the setup and closure of tax accounts across jurisdictions
n
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant payroll tax regulations and deadlines
n




- Assist with audits and respond to tax-related inquiries or discrepancies
n
- Stay informed on payroll tax law changes and recommend appropriate updates to processes and systems
n

Qualifications

n

n
- Prior experience with Workday and/or ADP payroll systems
n
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, reporting, and compliance
n
- Experience supporting or managing multi-state payroll operations
n
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
n
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
