Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and disciplined Wok Chef to join the kitchen team at CHU Restaurant by China Doll within West HQ.

Chu Restaurant by China Doll is a distinguished dining destination inspired by the glamour of 1940s Shanghai, delivering a refined and immersive dining experience. The kitchen showcases a modern interpretation of Asian cuisine, drawing influence from China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on precision, consistency, and execution standards.

The Opportunity
n
This is a hands-on kitchen role responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality wok execution within a structured and fast-paced team environment.
n
You will take ownership of your section during service, ensuring all dishes are prepared and executed to exact standards while maintaining efficiency, timing, and kitchen flow.
n
You will play a key role in upholding the integrity of CHU's culinary standards and contributing to a disciplined, high-performing kitchen team.
n
What You'll Be Doing:
n
n
- Run and take full responsibility for the wok section during service
n
- Prepare and execute high-quality dishes with consistency and precision
n
- Maintain strict mise en place discipline and service readiness standards
n
- Ensure all dishes meet presentation, temperature, and seasoning standards before service
n
- Support smooth kitchen operations through strong communication and timing awareness
n
- Work collaboratively within a structured kitchen brigade
n
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards at all times
n
- Assist in maintaining stock control, prep organisation, and waste minimisation
n
n
What You'll Bring
n
n
- Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Chef de Partie or Wok Chef in a premium or high-volume kitchen
n
- Strong wok skills with proven ability to execute Asian cuisine consistently under pressure
n
- Ability to independently run a section during service
n
- Strong understanding of mise en place, prep systems, and kitchen discipline
n
- Consistent focus on quality, timing, and execution standards
n
- Ability to remain calm and efficient during peak service periods
n
- Solid communication skills within a brigade kitchen environment
n
- Relevant culinary qualifications preferred
n
