Job Description

We're looking for an experienced retail assistant to join us on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on shop-floor role, not a desk job. We'd prefer full time, but we will consider part time for the right person - minimum 30 hours a week.

What you’ll be doing

- Serving customers on the floor and at the counter - helping people find what they need for birthdays, weddings, school events and every other occasion
- Operating the POS, handling cash and card, and processing refunds and exchanges
- Making up balloon arrangements and helium orders - we'll train you, but you'll need an eye for detail
- Picking, packing and handing over online and click-and-collect orders
- Receiving deliveries, pricing and ticketing stock, and keeping the shelves full and tidy
- Merchandising and setting up seasonal displays
- Stocktakes and general store presentation

About The Employer

Party Source is WA's largest party shop. We stock over 8,000 products - costumes, balloons, decorations and party supplies - and serve customers in-store, over the phone and online from our Canning Vale store on Bannister Road.

About The Candidate

- At least 3 years' retail experience - this is a genuine requirement, not a wish




- Confident on a POS and handling cash accurately
- Comfortable working a busy floor and switching between customers, phone enquiries and stock work
- Reliable and on time, and happy to work Saturdays as part of a normal roster
- Australian work rights
- A driver's licence and your own transport is helpful - we're in an industrial area with limited public transport

Nice to have

- Experience with balloons, floristry, gift, costume or party retail
- Experience with online order fulfilment or click-and-collect
- Visual merchandising or display experience

Work Environment

- Permanent hours - full time preferred, part time considered from 30 hours a week - with a guaranteed roster, paid annual leave and personal leave
- $60,000 - $62,000 plus superannuation
- A small team where you'll be trusted with real responsibility rather than being one of forty on a roster
- Free in office parking, five minutes from Ranford Road
- Store trades Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-4pm. We are closed Sundays - no Sunday work, ever
- Genuine variety: no two weeks look the same between Book Week, Halloween, Christmas and wedding season
