CAD Draftsperson

Full-Time Permanent Position Eastern Suburbs Melbourne

ProQuest Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing Australian manufacturing and engineering business to recruit an experienced CAD Draftsperson .

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialised organisation that designs and manufactures custom technical solutions for a diverse range of industries. Working closely with Sales, Projects, Manufacturing and Purchasing teams, you'll play a critical role in turning concepts into accurate drawings, manufacturing documentation and practical design solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Operations, you will be responsible for preparing detailed drawings, models and CNC cutting files to support customer approvals, project delivery and manufacturing outcomes.

- Preparing sales and project drawings for client approval
- Developing fabrication, assembly and component drawings
- Creating Bills of Materials and CNC cutting files
- Supporting product design activities with a focus on practical and manufacturable solutions
- Assisting project engineering activities, including site measurements, layouts and take-offs
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve design and drafting challenges
- Maintaining drawing revisions and documentation in accordance with company procedures




- Delivering accurate work within agreed project deadlines

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience as a CAD Draftsperson, Design Draftsperson or similar role within manufacturing
- Robust experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Revit
- Demonstrated ability to produce detailed fabrication and manufacturing drawings
- A sound understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and fabrication requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams

Highly Regarded

- SketchUp and Adobe Photoshop experience
- Exposure to sheet metal, plastics fabrication, HVAC, fume handling or related technical manufacturing environments
- Experience preparing CNC cutting files
- Experience supporting installation drawings and site-based project requirements
