Job Description

A government facility on the Bellarine Peninsula is offering leadership opportunities in our Technical and Facilities Services team. We are seeking experienced and customer-focused leaders to oversee management of Technical and Facilities services across a complex portfolio. These roles will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient and cost-effective operation of building, infrastructure and grounds services, with a strong focus on technical and planned maintenance, contractor management, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Manage the day-to-day facilities operations across the portfolio
n
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities
n
- Manage contractors, vendors and service providers to ensure works are completed safely, on time and to standard
n
- Ensure compliance with WHS, statutory, legislative and policy requirements
n
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement
n
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, purchase order, invoicing and cost control
n
- Conduct site inspections and manage any risks, defects or maintenance issues
n
- Build strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders
n




- Lead projects, upgrades and lifecycle works as required
n
- Maintain accurate records, reports, compliance documentation and maintenance schedules
n

Education, Qualification and Experience Requirements:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management, technical building services, engineering or estate management within a complex operational environment.
n
- Strong technical understanding across areas such as HVAC, electrical, fire systems, CCTV, Electronic Access control, grounds and buildings management
n
- Experience managing contractors and planned/reactive maintenance programs
n
- Strong knowledge of WHS, risk, compliance and statutory requirements
n
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
n
- Strong financial and administrative capability, including budgets, project administration and reporting
n
- Trade, engineering, facilities management, technologist or building services qualifications highly regarded
n

Candidates would be expected to work independently or under broad direction, exercising sound skilled judgement to undertake complex decision making in regard to detailed projects and stakeholder management in a leadership capacity.
