About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Entry-Level Trade Assistant to join our growing painting team in Toowoomba. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the painting and construction industry while working alongside experienced painters on a variety of residential, commercial, and education projects. Painting assistants commonly support surface preparation, protect work areas, move materials, and assist qualified painters on-site.

No previous painting experience is required-just a robust work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Assist qualified painters with daily tasks.
n
- Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling, masking, and cleaning.
n
- Protect work areas using drop sheets and masking materials.
n
- Load, unload, and move tools, equipment, and materials.
n
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite.
n
- Follow safe work practices and company procedures.
n
- Work on residential, commercial, and school facilities as required.
n
- Current C Class Driver Licence.
n
- Current White Card.
n
- Current Working with Children (Blue Card)



or the ability to obtain one , as some work may be undertaken in schools or other child-related environments where a Blue Card is required.

- Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
n
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
n
- Ability to work well in a team.
n
- Previous labouring, construction, landscaping, or painting experience.
n
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
n
- EWP, Working at Heights, or other construction tickets (advantageous but not essential).
