About the Physiotherapy Department:
The Physiotherapy Department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health, from the Emergency Department through to bed-based services and ongoing ambulatory care.
About the role:
Asan Allied HealthAssistantworking in theAustin Health Physiotherapy departmentyou will work collaboratively with the treating clinicians andwider physiotherapy department to provide safe, effective, patient centred care. This role is a rotational position allowing the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience and expertise in acute, sub-acute and outpatient clinical settings.
A regular day will see you:
- Assist in physiotherapy activities, as instructed by the physiotherapist includinggroup classes,performing exercises, moving, transferring and ambulation of patients
- Independently provide clinical care to patients within a secure and appropriate framework as determined by the instructing physiotherapist.
- Set up equipment and store it away at the end of treatment sessions.
- Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy treatment area.
- Document patient treatment attendances on computer and/or in patient’s medical record in line with Austin Health medical record policies.
- Monitor equipment supplies and re-order as required.

About you:
Someone who iscompassionate and dedicated to providing excellent patient centred care. Someone who works hard to improve patient centred outcomes related to their physical activity or function in a hospital or community setting.Highly developed communicationskills and an ability tointeract with people from culturallydiverse and socio demographicbackgrounds.
This role requires you to have:
- Suitable qualification Certificate III orhigherequivalent.
- Demonstrate initiative, problem solving skills and flexibility.

- Preferably previous experience working with Physiotherapists in acute and sub-acute as an Allied Health Assistant (Physio),
