Our state government client is seeking an experienced ICT Infrastructure professional to join their team in a permanent position based in Beaudesert, Queensland.

This role is responsible for supporting and improving a hybrid ICT environment while leading infrastructure projects, strengthening cybersecurity, and delivering reliable technology services across the organisation.

n

Working under the broad direction of the Coordinator ICT Operations, you will play a key role in maintaining critical ICT infrastructure, driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and providing technical leadership across a complex, multi-site environment.

Key responsibilities

n

n
- Provide Level 2 operational support across a hybrid ICT setting, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows servers, networking, unified communications, end user devices, and vendor-managed services.
n
- Lead and deliver ICT infrastructure projects in line with project management principles, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
n
- Maintain and improve Council's ICT infrastructure through continuous improvement initiatives and technology enhancements.
n
- Implement, monitor, and strengthen cybersecurity controls to protect infrastructure, systems, and data.
n
- Assist with ICT infrastructure budget planning, financial reporting, journals, accruals, invoice processing, and project cost tracking.
n
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve issues, improve customer satisfaction, and identify technology improvements.

- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure contractual performance and successful service delivery.
n
- Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of ICT policies and operational procedures.
n
- Research emerging technologies and provide recommendations that support innovation and the ICT Strategic Plan.
n
- Collaborate across the organisation to improve ICT services, share knowledge, and promote operational efficiencies.
n
- Ensure compliance with Council policies, record keeping requirements, and Work Health and Safety obligations.
n
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior team members where required.

Desirable criteria

n

n
- Project Management certification or qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, PMBOK, or AIPM.
n
- Experience working within local government or another large, complex, multi-site organisation.
n
- Knowledge of ITIL service management, change management, and release management principles.
n
- Experience contributing to ICT strategic planning and technology roadmaps.
n
- Experience developing or reviewing ICT policies and governance frameworks.
n
- Current C Class Driver Licence.
n

Skills and experience

n

n




- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
n
- Demonstrated experience supporting and managing hybrid ICT environments.
n
- Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, virtualisation, networking, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, multifunction devices, and end user computing.
n
- Proven experience delivering ICT infrastructure projects from planning through to implementation.
n
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat mitigation, and infrastructure security best practices.
n
- Experience managing ICT vendors, suppliers, and external service providers.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
n
- Strong budgeting, financial administration, and project reporting skills.
n
- Demonstrated ability to analyse business requirements and deliver technology solutions that improve business outcomes.
n
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while mentoring and supporting others.
