Position Summary :

The Podiatrist is responsible for independently assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of foot, ankle and lower limb conditions.
n
The role involves delivering evidence-based podiatric care, maintaining accurate clinical records, developing treatment plans, communicating effectively with patients and referrers, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and professionalism.

The Podiatrist works autonomously within their scope of practice whilst contributing positively to team culture, supporting clinic growth and providing an exceptional patient experience.

Job Responsibility :

Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis
n

- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and clinical examinations.
n
- Obtain and document relevant medical history.
n
- Assess foot, ankle and lower limb conditions.
n
- Develop accurate clinical diagnoses.
n
- Formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
n
- Identify conditions requiring referral to other healthcare providers.
n
- Exercise sound clinical judgement and decision making.
n
- Provide routine and complex podiatry treatments.
n
- Perform medical pedicure treatments in accordance with clinic protocols.
n
- Provide nail care and management of nail disorders.
n
- Treat corns, calluses and skin conditions.
n
- Assess and manage biomechanical conditions.
n
- Prescribe and fit orthotic devices where appropriate.
n
- Conduct diabetic foot assessments and management.
n
- Perform wound care within scope of practice.
n
- Deliver Shockwave Therapy, Swift Microwave Therapy and KeryFlex Nail Restoration where appropriate.
n
- Perform nail surgery where trained and credentialed.
n
- Develop ongoing treatment plans and monitor patient outcomes.

- Deliver an exceptional patient experience.

- Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis.

- Provide preventative foot health advice.

- Encourage treatment compliance and positive health outcomes.

Clinical Documentation

- Complete accurate, comprehensive and contemporaneous clinical notes.

- Maintain documentation in accordance with professional, legal and AHPRA requirements.

- Complete reports, referrals and correspondence within required timeframes.

- Ensure clinical notes are finalised on the day of consultation.

Professional Communication

- Liaise professionally with GPs, specialists and allied health professionals.

- Maintain robust relationships with referring practitioners.

- Prepare professional reports and correspondence as required.
