Director - Energy Markets Advisory

We're looking for a Director to join a leadership team delivering market-leading projects at the forefront of Australia's energy transition. This is a genuine leadership opportunity for someone who wants to combine technical depth across the NEMwith real influence over strategy, people, and client outcomes. This is a genuine leadership opportunity with a clear pathway to progress to Partner level, that is based on merit, not when someone is leaving and a spot becomes available.

What you'll be doing

You’ll lead a team of talented, curious professionals solving some of the toughest challenges facing the energy sector today. Day to day, this looks like:

- Advising and partnering directly with clients on complex NEM-related issues (work on exciting, exclusive mandates - ask me for more insight)
- Leading, mentoring, and developing your team
- Playing a hands-on role in business development and proposal development
Contributing to thought leadership in a fast-moving and highly visible sector
- Driving the ongoing development of the team's market modelling capability and approach





This role sits within a broader climate and energy advisory practice made up of economists, engineers, modellers, and regulatory specialists, all working on the practical realities of the net zero transition, from policy and commercial contracting through to major M&A; activity in the NEM. Work on genuinely exciting projects day to day!

What you'll bring

- 8+ years of relevant NEM experience, ideally from a consulting, industry, or government background
- A track record of leading teams to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems
- Proven business development experience, including building relationships and leading compelling client proposals leading commerical outcomes
- Robust hands on experience with market modelling tools such as PLEXOS, and/or bespoke modelling using Python is HIGHLY desirable
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, business, economics, or a related field
