Theopportunity

This is an opportunity to make a realdifference in the way palliative and end of life care is deliveredacross Warrigal. As aCNC,you’ll use your expertise tosupport teams to provide compassionate, person-centred care thatprioritises comfort, dignity, choice and quality of life forresidents and clients approaching the end oflife.

You’ll work alongside our clinicalteams to provide expert advice, support complex care needs andbuild confidence in recognising and responding to palliative andend of life needs. You’ll help teams plan ahead, have meaningfulconversations with residents and families, and ensure care reflectseach person’s wishes, values andpreferences.

A key part of the role will bebuilding the capability of our Registered Nurses andmultidisciplinary teams. Through education, coaching, mentoring andclinical support, you’ll help strengthengood practice andbuildthe confidence and skills needed to deliver high-qualitypalliative care.

You’ll also help shape the systemsand practices that support consistent care across Warrigal,including advance care planning, clinical governance, education,quality improvement and evidence-basedpractice.

This role will suit anexperiencedCNCwho is passionate about improving end oflife care and supporting others to do the same. You’ll bring strongclinical expertise,



sound judgement and a team-oriented approach,together with a genuine commitment to ensuring every resident andclient receives compassionate, respectful and dignified carethroughout their palliative carejourney.

This role will requireregular travel across all Warrigal facilities, working closely withteams at each site to support consistent, high-quality palliativeand end of life care.

The requirements | What ittakes to do thiswork

- Current AHPRA registration as aRegistered Nurse (Division 1,General)
- Completed postgraduatequalification in a relevant specialty such as palliative care,oncology, aged care, primary care, clinical education orclinical governance
- Demonstrated capability as aClinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 level, with a minimum of 5years' experience in a advanced practicerole.
- Demonstrated ability to design,implement, review and improve palliative care and end of lifesystems, pathways, tools and documentation across multiplesites
- Strong understanding ofpalliative and end of life care in aged care, includingadvanced care planning, goals of care, recognition ofdeterioration,



symptom assessment, anticipatory planning,family/supporter meetings, terminal phase care and bereavementsupport.
- Experience using clinical data,audits and incident reviews to identify risks, driveimprovement and evaluate outcomes
- Willingness to travel acrosssites to provide targeted clinical consultancy and supportbased on organisational priorities and residentneed.
