The Opportunity Health Workforce Queensland (HWQ) is a purpose-led, financially sound organisation committed to strengthening healthcare access and workforce sustainability across Queensland. As HWQ continues to evolve and grow its impact, an exceptional opportunity has emerged for a CPA or CA qualified finance leader to join the leadership team as Senior Manager, Corporate Services.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Board, this newly created role will strengthen HWQ's enabling functions and establish the foundations required for its next phase of growth and maturity. Leading a broad portfolio spanning finance, people, organisational development, project management, quality, governance and risk, the role will suit an enterprise-minded finance leader who enjoys simplifying complexity, improving systems and influencing organisational performance. Key priorities include strengthening financial and management reporting, streamlining processes and frameworks, and shaping a contemporary Corporate Services function that supports transformation and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance and compliance activities across the organisation.

Deliver high-quality Board and Executive reporting that supports informed decision-making, accountability and organisational performance.

Simplify and strengthen finance systems, controls and reporting processes while ensuring compliance with grant funding and audit requirements.

Provide leadership across HR, organisational development, IR/ER, quality, risk and broader corporate services functions, supporting organisational capability and culture.

Strengthen PMO governance, project delivery disciplines and organisational reporting frameworks,



ensuring initiatives are effectively prioritised and monitored.

Drive continuous improvement across corporate services, quality and compliance systems, supporting business transformation and future organisational accreditation objectives.

About You

You are a CPA or CA qualified finance leader with experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial governance and Board reporting within a complex environment. Exposure to grant-funded, not-for-profit, healthcare or government-funded organisations will be highly regarded.

Experience managing PMO and quality functions, funding agreements, acquittals and compliance obligations will also be advantageous.

Beyond your technical expertise, you bring a cooperative leadership style and the ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence. You are equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up your sleeves when required, and you enjoy working across functions to solve problems, build capability and support organisational success.
