A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major highways maintenance and infrastructure programme. You’ll play a key role in the commercial management of projects, ensuring strong financial control and successful delivery across a busy portfolio of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-contract activities including forecasting, measurement, subcontract tendering, and procurement
- Manage project commercials: valuations, applications, cost control, and change management
- Oversee subcontractor packages and support operational delivery teams
- Prepare, submit, and agree Final Accounts
- Produce accurate project forecasts and contribute to monthly reporting cycles
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks
- Drive cashflow through effective valuation and invoicing processes
- Support and mentor junior commercial staff and site teams
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and internal procedures
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Proven experience operating at Senior QS level within construction or civil engineering
- Robust background in highways or infrastructure projects
- Solid working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (Option A preferred)
- Experience with Highways Method of Measurement / Schedule of Rates
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
Salary: £450 – £500/day
