Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of Tate's data centre infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle. Working closely with executive stakeholders, business leaders, delivery teams, and external partners, the Senior Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while effectively managing risks, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder expectations
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple concurrent construction projects from tender award to completion.
Define project strategy, methodology, and delivery plans in alignment with client requirements.
Provide direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and subcontracted teams.
Ensure project milestones, programme dates, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Oversee procurement, long-lead items, logistics, and resource planning.
Set and manage project budgets, cash flow, and cost control processes.
Oversee variations, claims, EOTs, and commercial negotiations.
Ensure contracts and subcontracts are executed within risk parameters and company standards.
Work closely with the commercial team to maximise project profitability and mitigate risk.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary senior point of contact for builders, consultants, and key clients.
Drive positive relationships, repeat business, and client satisfaction.
Manage communications, reporting, and escalation of critical issues.
Mentor and develop Project Managers, Engineers, and site personnel.
Lead recruitment, workforce planning, performance reviews, and training initiatives.
Build a solid, collaborative culture focused on safety, quality, and accountability.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Champion WHS standards and ensure compliance with legislation and company systems.
Oversight of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews.
Strategy & Business Improvement
Contribute to business growth, capability development, and process optimisation.
Support tender submissions, methodology development, and high-level programming.
Identify opportunities for efficiency, system improvement, and innovation.
Skills & Experience Required
10+ years experience in construction project management, ideally as a PM and Senior PM.
Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge (AS 4000, D&C;, or similar).
Proven ability to deliver large, complex, fast-paced projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
High-level understanding of WHS, QA, and project controls.
Experience in data centres, mission-critical environments, or tier-1/2 contractor environments highly desirable.
Qualifications
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (preferred).
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., WHS, PM, leadership programs).
