Job Description
Australian Boom & Scissor Lift Key duties and responsibilities: Preparing, priming and finishing the surfaces of the EWP fleet to maintain a professional, corrosion-resistant, and market-ready appearance across all machines. Removing rough spots, rust and damaged coatings from EWP chassis, booms and platforms Preparing surfaces for painting through manual and power sanding techniques. Covering non-target areas using tape and protective paper.
Custom paint colour formulation and mixing to match ABS Lift's fleet livery, and selecting pre-mixed paint where appropriate. Performing spray application of primer and finish coats, including intermediate sanding for surface quality. Inspecting, touching up, and polishing finished surfaces .
Performing final quality finishing, including removal of masking materials and paintwork polishing. Applying signage and branding artwork to fleet equipment Treating equipment with rust-proofing chemicals to extend asset life in outdoor hire conditions. Skills and experience required: Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing/Vehicle Painting and two years of relevant work experience,
or a minimum of three years’ proven industry experience.
Demonstrated expertise in vehicle and spray painting, ideally within trade, plant, machinery, or heavy vehicle environments. Sound knowledge of surface preparation, spray-gun application, and colour-matching techniques Ability to work safely with paints, solvents and rust-proofing chemicals, including correct PPE use Own transport preferred given the Wetherill Park workshop location Salary range $79,423 – $85,000 per annum (excl. superannuation) About Company ABS Lift is an elevated work platform (EWP) hire business operating a fleet of approximately 250 boom lifts, scissor lifts and telehandlers out of our Wetherill Park workshop. We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter to join our workshop team, responsible for preparing, priming and finishing the surfaces of our EWP fleet to maintain a qualified, corrosion-resistant, and market-ready appearance across all machines.
