Regional Victoria | Food Manufacturing | Senior Site Leadership
An established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering function at a large regional Victorian manufacturing site.
Reporting to the Head of Operations , you will have responsibility for plant reliability, maintenance performance, minimising operational downtime and developing a strong preventative maintenance culture.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the site maintenance and engineering function
- Drive preventative maintenance and reliability improvement
- Minimise production downtime through effective maintenance planning and execution
- Lead and develop Maintenance Supervisors, Planners and trades
- Improve maintenance schedules and address recurring equipment issues
- Manage maintenance expenditure, labour utilisation and key cost measures
- Ensure statutory inspections, audits and compliance requirements are met
- Identify opportunities to improve existing plant and future assets
- Lead capital projects from scoping and supplier selection through to installation and commissioning
- Partner with Operations and site leadership to support production and broader business objectives
About You
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
- Significant maintenance and engineering experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, processing or a similarly complex industrial environment
- Experience leading a site maintenance or engineering function
- Strong people leadership across trades and maintenance teams
- Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement
- Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital expenditure
- Experience delivering plant upgrades and capital projects
- Solid understanding of safety, compliance and statutory maintenance requirements
- A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background , or a relevant technical/trade background combined with substantial maintenance leadership experience
