Gravity Media Australia is looking for a Broadcast Network Engineer to help design, operate and evolve the high-performance IP infrastructure that powers our world-class productions.

This is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of SMPTE ST 2110, IP media, high-speed networking and broadcast IT, supporting complex live environments across multiple Gravity Media facilities.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our IP-based broadcast infrastructure is reliable, resilient and ready for live production.

- SMPTE ST 2110 & IP Media Infrastructure Management
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot core and edge IP broadcast fabrics supporting uncompressed video, audio, and metadata flows (ST /30/40) as well as compressed video such as JPEGXS ST and AVC/HEVC flows.
- Manage Precision Time Protocol (PTP) grandmaster clocks, boundary clocks, and network-wide timing synchronization.
- Deploy and maintain NMOS services for broadcast endpoint routing and dynamic connection control.
- Oversee IP audio transport architectures (AES67, Dante, Ravenna) and seamlessly integrate them into the primary ST 2110 network fabric.
- Monitor live network bandwidth, unicast/multicast traffic routing, and hitless
- Configure and perform routine maintenance on high-capacity spine-leaf switches dedicated to live production workflows.
- Manage VLAN allocation, Quality of Service (QoS), Spanning Tree Protocol, and multicast IP address
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure alignment between corporate and media networks.
- Create tools for technical teams to be able to diagnose and self-support straightforward problems within media networks.

Technical Operations & System Support

- Serve as the primary technical support for IP network infrastructure during high-profile live events and studio operations.
- Collaborate with broadcast engineers, audio teams,

and production crew to route complex signals and integrate new technical hardware.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network topology diagrams and IP/multicast mapping

Lifecycle Management & Platform Evolution

- Test, evaluate, and execute controlled software and firmware updates across network switches, broadcast gateways, and media endpoints.
- Participate in system design and architectural upgrades as Gravity Media expands its IP capabilities and production facilities.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is technically curious, solutions-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.

You’ll ideally have:

- Strong experience in IP networking and broadcast environments.
- 3-5 years in a similar role is preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and IP media workflows.
- Experience with multicast networking, PTP, QoS and high-performance switching.
- Knowledge of NMOS and IP audio technologies such as AES67, Dante or Ravenna.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- The ability to work calmly and collaboratively when the pressure is on.
- A proactive approach to documentation, continuous improvement and technical problem-solving.
- You will build strong partnerships with all key stakeholders including management and staff. As well as build strong relationships with relevant suppliers and manufacturers
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of the industry, the Company, your marketplace, and our competition;
- Assist in the identification of areas where improvements can be achieved;
- Participate in the ongoing training and development of yourself and the team.

Why Gravity Media Australia?

You’ll work with talented broadcast, engineering, audio and production professionals across some of the most technically advanced live production environments in the industry.

If you’re passionate about IP networking, broadcast technology and solving complex technical challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
