Tax Lawyer - Transition opportunity for experienced accountants

Cooper Grace Ward is pleased to offer a unique opportunity foraccountants with tax advisory experience and legal qualificationswho wish to transition their career into a tax lawyer role withinour highly regarded tax and tax disputes team, part of theCommercial and Private Client workgroup.

In this role, you will leverage your strong tax advisorybackground and legal skills to assist clients with a broad range ofGST, tax and revenue matters (including state revenue), providingpractical legal advice and implementing the transactions in whichyou are providing advice. Your contributions will be recognisedwith career progression supported through mentorship by seniorlegal leaders.

The variety of work you will do includes:

- Advising on GST, tax and revenue matters (including staterevenue)
- Objecting to ATO and Revenue Offices tax and penaltyassessments
- Assisting clients with ATO and Revenue Offices reviews andaudits
- Involvement in the commercial transactions you are advisingon beyond just giving advice

Requirements:

- Accounting professionals with 3+ years’ experience in taxadvisory roles and a completed law degree
- A genuine interest in transitioning into tax law andcombining accounting expertise with legal practice
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communicationskills
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to deliveringhigh-quality work
- Passion for outstanding client service and building strong,long-term client relationships




- Ability to work independently and provide support andguidance to junior team members
